       In the Cortona hilltop, the fortitude “Medicea”, know like Girifalco fortitude, rises in a leading position: here we can enjoy yourself with a proud panorama To Monte Amianta to Trasimeno Lake.Under the fortitude there’s the “Santa Margherita” sanctuary, from where the pavement roads city expand their self. In the nearness of the sanctuary, as far as 4 km to north-east of Cortona there’s the “Eremo delle celle” founded by San Francesco in the XIII century. San Francesco has visited the Eremo for  the last time in the 1226, shortly before is death. The structure, once of littles dimensions, was amplified since the XVI century, and it’s composed a part of buildings of medieval origins (some of the cells, the mess, a little court) and in the other side with the church. In the Corona heart, there are the San Francesco and the Sant’Agostino Romanics churches beyond the Diocesan museum that keeps a paints holdings indeed exceptional. We have to admire some of the Beato Angelico , Luca Signorelli, Duccio di Boninsegna, and Andrea Lorenzetti works. Appreciated and frequented by every import art student there is the Accademia Etrusca Library, rich of volumes, pergamene, incunabuli, prints volumes. Near the Cortona centre there’s the Tanella di Pitagora a Etruscan funeral build dated between the IV and the I century before Christie. Two etruschi half- sphere graves are raised in the archaeological zone near the “Sodo”. The building, “Melone II”, is probably the must big structure discovered in Etruria and that the art student esteem of  VII century before Christie.
